I come from three generations of architects based in South Africa. I started a creative design practice as the Architecture Co-op in 1993. Our commitment to design and sustainability has been acknowledged through local and global awards for architecture and sustainable design.

My deep interests in people, landscape, ecology, sustainability, and the craft of architecture inspire me to seek innovations grown from this for each project. The aim of my responsive design practice is to achieve tailored, thoughtful, beautifully designed places and buildings that provide atmospheric, memorable spaces rooted in their environment that live well.

I have a hands-on approach to each project and have a compact dynamic team comprising Ivan Smidt and Cornelus van der Nest, who assist me. We regularly collaborate with people from diverse multidisciplinary professions to incubate and develop buildings grounded in solid research. We aim to produce a unique design suited to each project.
