A proposal for the development of facilities for the University of Pretoria Veterinary Department's sustainable world-class education and research facility. Located in the bush, in the Kruger National Park and adjacent to State wilderness, conservation areas, private lodges, and communal lands. A pivotal location for development of a "one health" integrated study hub. Providing a platform for study of wilderness and domestic species, land conservation and disease research opportunities. Including research and education facilities, a biohazard level 2/3 laboratory, a clinic, staff and student accommodation, recreational facilities, animal holding facilities. Conceived of as a long gently curved berm,  a geological intrusion in the Bushveld. Planted roofs, structural cooling and southerly orientation provide an environmentally responsive low-energy passive design strategy suited to the hot humid conditions.
